In addition to the software on the software page, which you can download for free, we have a couple of commercial products too.

PIC18 USB HID stack and IR receiver

As a result of previous work, we have a flexible USB HID software stack and hardware design for Microchip's PIC18F14K50 processor incorporated into a USB-IR gateway.

The main function of the device is to act as an IR remote control to HID device transciever which can be programmed to execute a series of keypresses or joystick actions when triggered by the appropriate incoming IR (RC5 or NEC) code.

Secondary functions include:

Programmable over USB via a CDC (modem) USB interface.
Interactive mode allows a program on the host to interact with the device and IR reciever directly via a USB modem driver on the host.
Support for I2C I/O extenders (and other I2C) devices attached to the PIC's I2C port.
Hardware is capable of providing a direct link to the PIC UART, so a USB-RS232 link is possible.
5V or 3.3V I/O variants from the same PCB.

This is a more mature product, and hardware and software are available for licencing to customers in production-ready form. As always, we can customise our firmware to your requirements - see our front page for details.

We also have some assembled devices available for purchase together with suitable remote controls.

Casework designs are available for licencing, or we can arrange production of finished devices for you, including modified or customised designs.
